SunTek window films and paint protection were developed by Commonwealth Laminating & Coating. These products were developed in state-of-the-art engineering facilities, intended to be used throughout the automotive, architectural, specialty, safety and security industries. This company is committed to continually improving upon its product line and to researching new solutions.
In 1974, Day Chahroudi founded SunTek with the help of grants originating from the National Science Foundation and MIT. In 1976, they were able to further procure an additional $1 million in funding from the Department of Energy. At this point, SunTek was able to produce its first product: a revolutionary new product named “Low-E.”
It was 1980 when SunTek spun off into the organization Southwall Technologies, which would later go public in 1987. By 1989, new gel polymer processes had been developed, and by 1992 these processes had been further optimized. It was in 2003 when an automated factory was developed for the production of new Cloud Gel glazings, and SunTek began to work directly with glass manufacturers.
Throughout the next decades, SunTek would continually improve upon its glazings and films. In 2010, they would partner with Asahi, a major glass manufacturer, though this would fall through during a recession. In 2013, they partnered with Velux and ultimately was able to produce considerable improvements for their skylight products.
Over the years, this company has focused on providing the best in customer service. They have developed a team of expert professionals who are available to answer questions regarding their product line, its installation and maintenance.
These window films are frequently used in automobile applications for safety, tinting and longevity. SunTek Paint Kits provide additional levels of protection over a vehicle’s paint job, protecting it from scratches, dents and weather issues. SunTek also develops films and coatings for other industries, designed to improve upon energy costs, safety and privacy. Altogether, SunTek films and paint kits offer very affordable protection for potentially costly damages.
All of SunTek’s products are developed in Martinsville, Virginia. This ensures that products are all made up to the same high-quality standards and that customers can take advantage of the localized availability of products.
