Ahhh, Scott … As one of the longest-running X-Men who is also one-third of the love triangle with Jean Grey and Wolverine, Scott Summers (a.k.a Cyclops) is the stereotypical boy scout with a dark side. Even though he’s the (sometimes) leader of the pack, he loves his fast cars, telepaths, and overload of power via the laser beams in his eyes. With his tortured past and unsecured future, we’re betting that Cyclops would absolutely adore spending some time in the Bugatti Chiron. It’s not coming out until 2018, but rumor has it that it will be the fastest car in the world, built to bend physics like never before.
Bugatti isn’t known for producing boring vehicles, and the Chiron certainly doesn’t disappoint. With its Cyclops-like middle eye and an estimated top speed of over 265 mph — a number that pushes the limits of thermodynamics (see how we worked the lasers in there?) as we know them. They dramatically raised the bar in terms of power and top speed, even from their supercars of the past such as the Veyron. Not only is the vehicle not a hybrid, but Bugatti claims that it will hold the road better, have better aerodynamics and accelerate more quickly than anything else on the market today.
From the outside in, the Bugatti has been completely re-engineered to rev up the cool factor. The front features the Bugatti logo in a Cyclops-like style that is low-slung and sassy. Viewed from the side, you could easily believe that the sleek lines are reminiscent of a helmet and the interior features impressive shapes and styles that you won’t see anywhere else.
Whether you’re chasing bad guys, or taking Phoenix out for a hot ride, the Bugatti Chiron doesn’t disappoint. The five different driving modes include “Lift,” “Auto,” “Autobahn,” “Handling” and “Top Speed,” any of which we would be happy to take for a spin. The difference lies in the steering weight, dampers, and torque distribution utilized in the electronic stability system. The “Autobahn” mode activates automatically over 112 mph (of course!) so you can be comfortable cruising at prime speeds. Got a nice salt flat to play in? Get ready to hunker down for “Top Speed” mode, which requires a second key so you can’t accidentally hit it on the interstate.
Cyclops may be a brooding kinda guy, but he’s definitely got an eye for hot cars. We’re pretty sure the Chiron uses a lighter window tint such as our 3M Window Films to keep the heat down as the supercar blazes down the road. If you think the Cyclops’ car is the hottest of the group, you’ll have to let us know by voting in our Best of the Best action hero series!
